Day 104
Okay, we are getting down to just over 100 days until Erica's return. I haven't written for awhile because I got a great "Erica fix" over spring break. First, nothing was better when I got off that plane than seeing Erica. I had such a great time and it was such a cultural experience. I won't deny I was pushed beyond my 50 y/o limits at times and felt like I was roughing it. But all in all I have a lot to talk about and I will never be treated again like I was in Korea. . . . . . . because I will never be famous for being an older fake blonde with a big nose who dresses up a little. The Korean's seemed to love me and they didn't seem to be faking it. Here is all the people who came to my birthday party because they wanted to meet me or spend more time with me.
My favorite part about being in Korea was time with Erica. Gosh, I just ate every minute of it. Here we are having coffee and at the foreigner bar.

My overall impression of Korea can be summarized in "likes and dislikes". Let's start with likes.
Likes:
How people dress up.
How physically fit they are, including the elderly.
How friendly and welcoming the people were.
That they don't have guns and lots of crime.
Pretty birthday cakes!
How Mike put up with BOTH Erica and I for a week. Rick feels his pain.
Dislikes:
Smells, smells and more unpleasant smells (fish and kim chi)
Spices in food.
Sitting on floor.
Cold water to wash hands, warm water to drink.
Too tiny coffee cups.
Korean TV.
All in all it was a wonderful time and I am SO GLAD I went. I will never forget it. Lots of funny things happened like me with the Korean cab driver, the asian acupuncture and trying to walk up a vertical mountain in my good shoes. But since Erica is the only one reading this is isn't news to her.
So April has flown by. It started with Easter and Cliff came in town. That was a nice weekend and we ate brunch at Yahooz. Then on April 12 a group of us went to see Martina Mcbride in concert. She was wonderful as were the opening acts. Here is a couple of pics.

Then we went out for Monica's engagement to this cool bar. It had music video for just about every popular song in the last 40 years. Here are some pics from that night.

L-R it is Monica, me, Candy and Kimberly. It is great to have Candy back in the office. Things are starting to gel- especially after this lice crisis. Everyone really chipped in and helped. And it is not over. I may never get to finish teaching sex education!
Not much else going on. I am totally hooked on several TV shows and am a DVr junkie! I love American Idol, Desperate Housewives and Brothers and Sisters. Friday Night Lights is over and I don't know what happened to Men in Trees. It is so relaxing to watch and fast forward through the commercials.
I will sign off for now and can't wait to hear about Erica and Mike's trip.
